Acupuncture is one of the oldest forms of therapy and has its roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Medical Acupuncture involves the use of single-use stainless-steel needles at various points on the body to reduce pain and stimulate healing. Research shows that acupuncture needles can produce analgesia (pain-relief) and affect the central nervous system. There is evidence to show that it is effective for many conditions, including low back pain, sciatica, headaches, osteoarthritis, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, TMJ syndrome and fibromyalgia. Acupuncture has fewer side effects and is less invasive than many other medical interventions.
